Zangersheide: the show jumping studbook and the «Z» suffix

Zangersheide is one of the most recognisable studbooks in show jumping, thanks to its characteristic «Z» suffix. Here is an essential overview.

A jumping-focused studbook

Zangersheide is a studbook created and selected with a specific focus on show jumping [1][2].

The «Z» suffix

Registered horses carry the letter «Z» after their name, used as a quality label linked to this studbook [1][2]. Thousands of foals are registered with it every year [1].
